This pattern presents a knitter a mix of projects—from a self-fringing scarf, to self-fringing shawl, a tiny lamb, or a very warm Scandinavian cap.
  • Available on Ravelry only.
Pattern is available only on Ravelry. This seamless set, knit with readily-available yarn, is presented in five sizes--from small child to large adult. This very warm cap and mitt pattern has two versions—a Nordic theme and a patriotic theme, and a knitter could certainly improvise the pattern into team or school colors. I don’t often suggest a particular yarn, but a double strand of Brown Sheep worsted is my favorite!
  • Scarves are timeless, warm or not so warm, functional or decorative, a wonderful one-size-fits-all gift, easy and fun to knit. There are 13 scarves in this booklet including one with cuffs and another very ingenious one done in four pieces. The thirteen designs included in the pattern will make any level knitter happy. The patterns are rated, just like the movies, with stars, one asterisk denotes very easy, while four asterisks denote a challenging pattern. Pattern is available in print or on Ravelry.
  • Eleven designs, several classical, some designs easier, none are difficult! You never carry more than two colors at a time or carry a second color more than five stitches. Use sport yarn, preferable Norwegian sport. Sizes range from toddler to adult large (23”) I had a grand time writing this pattern –-spent a year knitting and reknitting Scandinavian designs for the immediate eleven guys in my life—husband Paul, sons, sons-in-laws, grandsons, grandson-in-law and great grandson! Background photo is our country home in Iowa, 1993-2022. Pattern is available in print or on Ravelry.
  • There are ten cap patterns in sizes from toddlers to adults. In addition, some caps have scarves or mittens to match. Even though the title of the pattern specifies “gals,” many of the patterns are unisex. For those who knit for the community, there are especially warm caps, especially Anja’s “Helmet with Flaps.” Pattern is available in print or on Ravelry.
  • The concept of this pattern – knitting a two-color design on a “multiple of stitches plus or minus one,” causes the pattern to automatically move right or left.  Workshop attendees have commented: “It’s so much fun,” “But it is too easy,” or “It is very impressive.” I’d suggest this to the knitter with a sense of adventure who would like to try a new technique. Included in the pattern is a tote bag and a pillow utilizing the same concept. Pattern is available in print or on Ravelry.
  • Gloves, wristers and mittens featuring a “Peasant Gusset.” I discovered the peasant gusset when studying my daughter Lori’s purchase of some warm, colorful Peruvian knit gloves. The gusset is delightful to knit and worked beautifully in not just a glove design, but in the wristers and mittens as well. The pattern calls for worsted weight yarn and directions range from Child’s Medium to Men’s Large. Pattern is available in print or on Ravelry.
  • With a skein or two of worsted or specialty yarn and a few hours of knitting, you can knit a lovely warm cowl. Pattern booklet includes six basic designs with eleven variations. Perfect gift for a friend or relative. Pattern is available in print or on Ravelry.
