Cottage Creations third pattern, published in 1984, our most popular pattern, having sold over 100,000 printed copies. This classic seamless, “sweatshirt-inspired sweater,” utilizes worsted weight yarn, circular and double-point needles and comes in 14 sizes—Child size 2 to Adult XL.
  • A knitter requested a “matching” sweater for their child to match Svan Scandinavian. I’ve written directions for Size 2 to Extra-Large Adult. It is a good first-time venture into stranded knitting. One-piece construction features a mock turtle neck and minimum finishing, using circular and double point needles. Pattern is available in print or on Ravelry.

Pattern is written in sizes 6- 36 months. Knit in two pieces, uses worsted weight yarn, and begins at the cuff and then increases. The sweater is joined at the center back. Uses circular and double-points.
  • Raglan shaping, yoke-patterned sweater in sizes from Child Size 2 to Extra-large adult. Use worsted weight yarn, circular and double-point needles. This wonderful couple, Fritz sports a sweater with hearts encircling the yoke and lederhosen. Liesl wears a lace apron and pantaloon. It makes one want to board a river cruise on the Rhine! Knit from the head down, using sport yarn and double points.

  • This fun-to-knit sweater in sizes ranging from infant to extra-large adult. I had taken it off the website last in 2021, but lo and behold, when we moved in June 2022, I found another box of patterns. So, it is available in print and on Ravelry.
  • This Chanel style sweater, using worsted weight yarn, begins at cuff, increasing in stockinette stitch, and then in garter stitch, work some neck shaping plus a few more rows until you’ve reached the half-way point. Repeat the process for the other half, weave the center back stitches, pick up stitches around the garment for an easy garter stitch border and bind off.  No seaming required. Pattern is available in print or on Ravelry.
  • Lillie’s Sweater, a top-down sweater in sizes 3—36 months, and easy enough for an advanced beginner to knit. It lends itself to variegated and other colorful yarn blends. It’s a good sweater to have on hand for that next baby shower! Included in the pattern is a variation for knitting one for a 14” doll. Pattern is available in print or on Ravelry.
  • A unisex, top-down, pullover sweater and matching cap for kids, sizes 2-10. The sweater features an enlarged neck that makes it easy to get on and off. The yoke is raglan style, sleeves can be shaped or knit straight until the cuff decreases. The ribbing ends in a rolled bind-off. The seasonal two-color design happens around the tummy, “Charlie Brown style,” and like the sleeves, the ribbed bottom of the sweater ends in a rolled bind-off. Pattern is available in print or on Ravelry.
  • This pattern is a result of many requests from Wonderful Wallaby pattern lovers who wanted a “Wallaby cardigan.” Knit in Garter Stitch, the sweater is knit from top down. Instructions include either a zippered or button closure and a variation of a collar rather than hood. Detailed directions. Pattern is available in print or on Ravelry.
  • Cottage Creations’ Wonderful Wallaby, its most popular pattern, was first published in 1984, almost thirty-nine years ago. Over the years hundreds of knitters reported they’ve knit not just one Wallaby, but many. They’ve tweaked the pattern, and using their creativity have often shared photos on Ravelry or Pinterest. Like other knitters, I’ve knit many Wallabies over the years for friends and family. In so doing I’ve made innovations and incorporated shared techniques. I’ve realized the necessity for more diagrams. Because of the additions, it became necessary to divide this “new generation” into two separate booklets—one for kids (sizes 2-12), the other for grown-ups (5 sizes). The pattern is available in print or on Ravelry. Note: Please be advised…there is nothing wrong with the original pattern (W03) I’ve simply updated it.
